Working for Business in the Outdoor Capital of the UK

Essential Employment Update:  Moorings Hotel 19 May 12- 2pm

The fast changing world of employment law remains a challenge for us all and we are therefore delighted to welcome back Kirk Tudhope and Sine Mackay of Ledingham Chalmers Employment Team to provide clear and pragmatic guidance in their latest update for Lochaber Chamber members.

The event includes a presentation and discussion of some hot topics including:

  1.  Following challenges from Uber drivers and others in the “gig economy” just what  is the difference between “employees” and “workers” and why does status matter?

  2.   Update on how to deal with misconduct in the workplace including just when can we rely on earlier warnings?

  3.   Can  an employer be liable for disability discrimination even if they did not know the employee was ill?

  4.   Does Brexit matter?

The event is aimed at businesses of any size and should be particularly useful for business owners, managers and everyone whose role includes HR issues. Those who attend will benefit from being better able to deal fairly, and where necessarily robustly, with many of the typical challenges which arise day to day workplace.

Kirk and Sine promise that the event will be informative and also entertaining (honest).

Timings

There will be lunch and networking from 12- 12.45 followed by the presentation 12.45 to 2 PM.  Click HERE to book
