Home Composting

LEG are offering Lochaber residents the opportunity to start home composting with our free home composting starter kit. The kits will contain a 330 litre Ecomax compost kit, food waste caddy,a how to compost guide and a monitoring sheet. Home composting allows you to recycle your food waste, lower your carbon footprint & create a nutrient rich fertilizer for your garden. The scheme is funded by the Climate Challenge Fund Lochaber Energy & Waste project. In return for the compost starter kit we ask that you monitor for 2 weeks how many times you empty your kitchen food waste caddy into your compost bin. Bicycle Maintenance

LEG  have teamed up with Off Beat Bikes to offer a free 2 hour workshop on bike maintenance & repair on Tuesday the 13th of June 7-9pm at their store on the high street. This workshop is open to all Lochaber residents, with the aim of giving people the confidence to maintain their bikes properly& use their bikes more.  If you are interested and would like to book a spot you can book through the LEG office  at 01397 700090 and or on Lochaber Environmental Groups eventbrite page:


Fuel Efficient Driver Training

LEG are offering free fuel efficient driver training to the residents of Lochaber on Thursday the 22nd of June from 9-5pm at An Drochaid, Claggan. During the training you will learn how to drive more efficiently, save money on fuel and reduce wear & tear of your tyres. Sessions will last 50 minutes and will start on the hour. Participants can use their own car or they can use the instructor’s car for the training.
