Member Business Breakfast with Guest Speaker Charlotte Wright, CEO of Highlands and Islands Enterprise

Join us at this Chamber business breakfast, to hear about HIE’s vision for our region and identify opportunities for collaboration. We’re delighted to welcome guest speaker, Charlotte Wright, Chief Executive to tell us about upcoming plans and priorities.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise has an ambitious remit – to stimulate sustainable economic growth across an area covering half of Scotland, with 470,000 inhabitants.

Priorities for the delivery of this mandate are to: support businesses and social enterprises to shape and realise their growth aspirations; strengthen communities and fragile areas; develop growth sectors, particularly distinctive regional opportunities; and create the conditions for a competitive and low-carbon region.

Charlotte Wright was appointed as Chief Executive of HIE in June 2017; prior to this she was the agency’s Director of Business and Sector Development and, from August 2016, held the role of Interim Chief Executive. She believes that greater economic prosperity will be delivered through private sector-led investments. Under her direction, the agency wants to work with ambitious businesses to support both business and community growth.

09.00 – 10.30am, including buffet breakfast.
