Suzie Read’s Biography

I have recently founded r.e.a.d.coaching, providing an innovative approach to Learning and Development within business. My background in Education and understanding of the psychology of behaviour and leadership, means I am well qualified to contribute to organisational growth strategies.

Industry sector – I have worked in the Education sector for 10 years, with roles in Secondary, Further and Higher Education during which time I specialised in Additional Support Needs, specifically Autism.

Psychology of behaviour and development – My knowledge and experiences of working with Additional Support Needs grew to greater understanding of human development and the psychology behind our behaviours. I furthered my qualifications in this area, focusing on Counselling, specifically Psychotherapy. This provided me with an enhanced understanding of the psychology of learning and development and enabled me to work as a Counsellor alongside my educational positions.

Leadership and management – My roles within Education have encompassed a variety of Leadership positions, often working with geographically diverse teams. Ensuring inclusion and high levels of effective communication is an area of particular interest and one in which I focused on whilst leading teams who worked across different geographical boundaries. In addition to my practical experience, I also have a solid understanding of the theory and latest research within the field of leadership and management gained when teaching leadership skills and human development and behaviour to first year degree level and from my current academic experience.

To underpin my own skill set, I am currently increasing my theoretical knowledge further as an Executive Coach and am completing my ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring
