The Whitehouse Restaurant now open for summer season

The award-winning Whitehouse Restaurant in Lochaline was opened in 2003 by Sarah Jones and Jane Stuart-Smith. Sarah runs Lochaline Stores and Jane is an employment lawyer by trade. Despite the fact that neither of them had run a restaurant before they decided to give it a go.
Their mission was to showcase the amazing Lochaber larder. The Whitehouse Restaurant was way ahead of the curve serving locally sourced food from day one. They seem to be doing something right: they were awarded the coveted Scotland Food and Drink, Scottish Sourcing Excellence Award in 2018 and were the Observer Food Magazine Restaurant of the Year 2018 Runner Up.
If you want a delicious meal (or you have guests who do) the drive to the Whitehouse is very beautiful and an excellent day trip. Cross the Corran ferry and head for Lochaline. Lunch starts at £32 per head and booking is strongly recommended.
The menu reflects the seasons and daily deliveries. There are beautiful walks to ruined castles, ancient burial stones and the stunning Ardtornish Gardens if you want to work up an appetite!
