THE organisation for businesses in Lochaber.
Fully affiliated to Scottish Chambers of Commerce, the members of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce are businesses, large and small. The aims of the Chamber are to:
- Promote, foster and represent commerce, industry, trade, tourism and ancillary services in the Chamber area and elsewhere in the United Kingdom for the benefit of the business community of Lochaber
- To provide information, advice and assistance to the Lochaber business community
- To undertake, or encourage members to undertake joint activities for mutual support and promotion of the business community
- Recognising the paramount importance to the economy and the identity of the Chamber area of the tourism
and outdoor pursuits, to promote and foster the Chamber area as the “Outdoor Capital of the UK” and as such the “best area of the UK in which to enjoy the Outdoors”
- To act as Destination Organisation for the Chamber area, including
- To lead the promotion of the Chamber area as a destination for Visitors
- To facilitate a managed programme of events and festivals throughout the year and to support groups to secure marketing and fund raising opportunities.
- To promote and protect the collective business interests of the members and stimulate interest in, promote, support or oppose legislation or policies affecting the interests of commerce, industry, trade or ancillary services
- To promote high standards of business and the recognition and use of national and international standards
- To provide a means of securing business involvement in the local community to develop links between business and public authorities for the prosperity of the locality and its people, and to stimulate public awareness of business interests
